As with before, somehow the lyrics of needtobreathe have encouraged me along with where I am in life! :)

If you could soldier on
Headstrong into the storm
I’ll be here waiting on the other side
Don’t look back
The road is long
The first days of the war are gone
Take back your former throne and turn the tide

Cause if you never leave home, never let go
You’ll never make it to the great unknown till you

Keep your eyes open, my love
So tell me you’re strong, tell me you see
I need to hear it, can you promise me to
Keep your eyes open, my love

Just past the circumstance
The first light, a second chance
No child could ever dance the way you do, oh
Tear down the prison walls
Don’t start the curtain call
Your chains will never fall until you do

Cause if you never leave home, never let go
You’ll never make it to the great unknown till you
Keep your eyes open, my love
So show me your fire, show me your heart
You know I’ll never let you fall apart if you
Keep your eyes open, my love

Open up
Open up
Open up your eyes
The weight is unbroken
Open up
Open up
Open up your eyes
Keep your eyes open

Don’t let the night become the day
Don’t take the darkness to the grave
I know pain is just a place
The will has been broken
Don’t let the fear become the hate
Don’t take the sadness to the grave
I know the fight is on the way
When the sides have been chosen

Cause if you never leave home, never let go
You’ll never make it to the great unknown
Open up your eyes
Keep your eyes open
So tell me you’re strong, tell me you see
I need to hear it, can you promise me to
Keep your eyes open, my love
So show me your fire, show me your heart
You know I’ll never let you fall apart if you
Keep your eyes open, my love

Keep your eyes (Keep your eyes open)

cause if you never leave home

So sing with me
I dare you too
Cause there's an empty cross
There's an empty tomb.

Empty by Dan Haseltine & Matt Hammitt

Janessa told me about this song.. she thought I'd like it at 1:58 when Dan Haseltine comes in. She was right. The rest of the song is iiiight too :)

Drifting by Plumb

Tuesday, September 13

Being the super kind sister that I am, I got up at 6 am to head to the co-rec to sign my sister up as the new captain of the legendary Lightning Turtles (soccer team I started last spring and definitely not legendary). As I was driving back, the wispy clouds were making stripes across the sun. And this was on the radio....

This chest is full of memories

Of gold and silver tears

I’ll give you more to own than

All of this

And I’ll give you more than years

For you were once a child of innocence

And I see you just the same

Your burdens couldn’t win or

Lose a thing

Oh, I’d tell you once again

But you’re always on the run

Slow your breath down

Just take it slow

Find your heart now, oh

You can trust and love again

Slow your breath down, just take it slow

Find your smile now, oh

You can trust and love again

If you leave I’ll still be close to you

When all your fears rain down

I’ll take you back a thousand times again

I’ll take you as my own

I would sing you songs of innocence

‘Til the light of morning comes

‘Til the rays of gold and honey cover you

In the sweetness of the dawn

But you’re always on the run

You’re not alone

You’re now a part of me

You feel the cure

I’ll feel the toil it brought you

(title from Jeremy Camp's Twitter)

I guess I find it incredible that Jeremy Camp's first wife Melissa died at 21 from ovarian cancer. Incredible that I've already had 2 more years of life here than she did. She was so young! And it isn't that I'm not ready to go, just convicting... have I lived 23 worthwhile years?

I haven't listened to much more Jeremy Camp than what is on the radio (so this is pretty much another 'on the radio' music blog:)... but I think I'm a fan of his new song The Way.

"God did not create you for time; He created you for eternity."

The Hope That Lies In You
